Beautiful 1960s vintage blue fox hat in very good vintage condition. Dome shape like a classic Cossack hat. The interior is light blue textured silky material (I think acetate or similar) and has some discoloration that might be sweat stains. The fur is ivory colored with darker tips and is in great shape.
The fur is Norwegian blue fox which really isn't blue. The fur starts out as white with peppered black fur that is said to give it a blue hue when out in the snow during winter, but as light hits the fur over time the white sometimes oxidizes and yellows a bit.
The interior measures approx 8” across and 4.5” high. The round inside top piece measures 5.5” across. The interior circumference at the widest point measures approx 22”, 19” at narrowest point. The exterior including the fluffy fur measures about 12” wide and 8.5” high.
